Our story begins in the most unexpected of places—a pub in Methven, right as the world was emerging from the COVID-19 restrictions. It was a time when booking a table was the norm, and dancing was a distant memory. But on that night, as Cass and her friends arrived, fate had a different plan.

Tim and his friend were already at the table Cass’s group had booked, and rather than making them leave, Cass’s group invited them to stay. It was a spontaneous act of kindness that would set the stage for something truly special. With one of Cass’s friends knowing Tim and his friend well, conversation flowed effortlessly, and the night took on a life of its own.

As the evening wore on, the pub gave up on its anti-dancing rules, and before we knew it, we were all dancing and celebrating with many glasses of bubbles in hand! What started as a chance encounter soon turned into a memorable night.

In the months that followed, Cass and Tim stayed in touch, initially discussing work matters. Cass attempting to convince Tim her recruitment skills were far superior to anyone he had used before haha.

About six months later, a seemingly ordinary lunch meeting about staff requirements transformed into what was clearly a date. From that moment, we seized every opportunity to spend time together. Within another six months, we introduced each other to our children, and our families began to blend beautifully. Tim, Hettie, and Anabelle moved in with Cass, Bella, Sophie, Madi and Ivy, marking the start of our new life as the Kn-ike Clan.

Tim quickly became a beloved member of Cass’s family, winning hearts with his warmth and charm. In fact, he became such a favorite that Cass’s family fell for him even faster than she did! Cass felt equally welcomed by Tim’s family, especially by Goose and Tony, whom she met at Christmas in 2022. Their connection was immediate, and Cass felt as though she had found long-lost family members in them.

Together, we’ve shared many incredible moments—from our family trip to England to welcoming new pets into our home. We’ve also faced our share (well a fair bit more than our fair share) of challenges, but through it all, we’ve relied on each other, strengthening our bond and proving that our love is unbreakable.

As we prepare to embark on this next chapter as husband and wife, we are filled with excitement and gratitude for the journey that brought us here. We can’t wait to see what the future holds as we continue to build a life full of love, laughter, and adventure together.
